Sirius College Annual Art Show 2017

On the 30th October, Sirius College Eastmeadows Campus- Primary Art Department has been illuminated recently thanks to the Art Department and Events Hub members who organized an art exhibition which features the artworks of primary students from foundation to year 6. The Art exhibition was held in our campus’ gym to provide students with an opportunity to have their art-works valued and displayed to celebrate their creativity. Both students and the Art teachers have worked tirelessly to showcase and shine light on our students’ amazing talent.

The highlight of 2017 is encouraging young and emerging artist to celebrate our colleges’ diversity through ‘Multicultural Art’- Every week, our students explored different countries from different continents to create an art piece to represent that culture. The opening night included variety of interactive activities and events including cultural art workshops to FEEL, range of cultural foods to TASTE, music and dance performances to SEE and HEAR, student art works to LOVE and ADMIRE.

This year, Sirius College EM Parents Club members, contributed by preparing various cultural stalls which represented different countries. On behalf of Events Hub members and school management, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents for their contributions to celebrate Sirius College Family’s cultural differences. The opening of the Art show hosted some distinguished guests, Mayor of Hume City Council Drew Jessop, Cr Naim Kurt and Cr Karen Sherry, whom we thank for attending.

On behalf of Sirius College Family, we would like to thank and congratulate all our students for their out-standing efforts. As teachers, we believe students should learn to appreciate the artworks of their con-temporaries and place their own artworks within a wider context.

Regards,
Sirius College EMP Art Department
